Advocacy for AAC & resources

As an NDIS participant’s abilities and circumstances change over time, so does the potential need for different equipment and assistive technology to best support the participant. EL Speech Pathology is able to assist with advocating for devices, resources or other AAC (Augmentative & Alternative Communication) which may enhance the participant’s life.

Advocacy may include:

  • Discussion with the NDIS team regarding the rationale and necessity of a device or resource

  • Assessment and trial of multiple assistive technologies or resources

  • Consideration of the functional impact and clinical literature to inform the decision for advocacy

  • Letter of support detailing the aforementioned information
